My background & experienceI have been in the hospitality business for over ten years. I went through a lot of positions in the restaurant, from waiter to Matre’D and Restaurant Manager. Considering that I have had contact with wines since the beginning of my career, in 2015 I decided to dedicate myself to wines and start learning more and more about wines and becoming a Certified Sommelier after a while. For the last four years, I have worked as a Head Sommelier for one of the leading cruise lines, the Norwegian Cruise Line. As my job description was to travel, I visited some of the leading wine countries and regions in the world: France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Austria, California, Argentina, Chile and many others. My job description was to supervise the complete wine service on board with 5000 guests. Next to that, I have trained more than 1000 staff members regarding wine service and knowledge. I also organized a lot of fun for my guests making interesting tastings of wine and cheese, wine and chocolate, New World vs. Old World, Champagne tasting and many others.
My classes and teaching styleMy classes are based on expanding your knowledge of wines. If you are a beginner level of wine knowledge, I will teach you about the most important things you should know about wine. Not sure which wine varieties are white and which are red? You don't know how wine is made? Do you know what are five main types of wine? Do you know how to pair wine and food? I am sure that you will be able to answer all these questions and many others after just one lesson with me. Also for people with a more advanced level about wines, I will organize very interesting tastings where you will be able to learn a lot of new things about wine and try new combinations of wine with chocolate and cheese.
