Intro to Acting

withTim B

Intro to acting genres, concepts, and ideas covering a broad spectrum from classical to contemporary. Accessible to anyone interested in acting!

What you'll learn

Intro to acting genres, concepts, and ideas. This class will have brief sections covering definitions of acting genres, different avenues for acting (stage, film, voice acting, musicals), common misconceptions about what acting is and isn't. There will be some examples of what actors "do" (sing, do monologues, perform scenes).

We will discuss the idea of objectives and actionable words versus acting on emotions. Time permitting, students will get to read a few lines and receive some direction from the teacher in order to get a taste of what it is like to act in front of others in a virtual setting.
