Drama is one of the most exciting subjects to take at AMPHY as this is the class, where we not only build confidence, but also concentration.

Drama is the one subject which certainly develops emotional intelligence and it helps children to understand the world around them. Our drama classes are developed to be interactive, engaging and fun. Here at AMPHY we certainly enjoy teaching but we love to work in an environment which is supportive, fun and exciting.

Confidence

At AMPHY our student’s development is our number one priority and by joining our Drama classes, self-confidence is developed to a maturity level. This level will enable the student to sound sure of themself and will lead to feel more determined.

These Drama classes help children to improve reading, comprehension and listening skills which is needed not only in drama but life in general. This will build towards the child’s confidence in the classroom in general.

Confidence is an integral part of drama as actors are to constantly focus on their words, surroundings, and different objectives at the same time. Here the skill to handle different situations at different times is brought to the foreground.

Confidence will further allow the student flexibility which is a critical skill in the acting world to ensure success. This will bring to the table the appreciation of their own self abilities and qualities. From here it gets to the self-assurance to work on something until the student feels confident enough to take this to stage or screen.

Communication

Another development to be expected as a result of an AMPHY Drama class is superior communication skills. Here the verbal and nonverbal expression of ideas are enhanced to maturity. With this a listening and observation skill are simultaneously formed.

At the AMPHY Drama class we develop this skill by playing drama games, being an audience, rehearsing, and performing.

Acting is a way to overcome shyness and develop interpersonal skills. This is where the communication process is vital to the individual’s development into a confident adult, person or actor. Here the actor’s going on stage is a way to reinvent oneself. In real life one can not do this, but it becomes possible on stage or screen.

Drama supports numeracy skills by calculation, estimation and measurement to plan a dramatic scene as well as in the elements design stage. The student will show components, for example, utilizing image and time in pretend or other emotional structures with critical thinking and working numerically.

Emotional intelligence is the capacity to get, use, and deal with one’s own feelings in good manners to diminish pressure, convey viably, relate to other people, beat difficulties and stop struggle.

Emotional Intelligence Factors

AMPHY is set to help students develop all the above skills of which emotional intelligence is one of the most vital aspects. This element has five key factors, according to Daniel Goleman, an American psychologist. These factors are: Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social skills.

Drama students of AMPHY stand out to be on the foreground of being open minded, good listeners and be stable, well adapted citizens.

To summarize: Drama students at AMPHY will excel in: confidence, concentration, superior language and communication skills, cooperate in positive environments, excel in numeracy skills, understand the world around them and have emotional intelligence.
