Daily Routine plus tips along the way!
7:30-8:15am- Wake up & complete morning routine. My morning routine usually involves stretching, tongue scraping (do not knock it until you try it!), brushing teeth & getting dressed. I usually do not look at my phone for the first 20-30 minutes to help start my morning off calmly. Our cortisol levels, cortisol is deemed the “stress hormone,” are highest in the morning when we first wake up. Ease into your morning by leaving your phone, TV & laptop away or off for the first 30 minutes or so.
8:15-9:00am- Drink hot water with lemon. This helps me wake up in the morning and supports my metabolism & digestion. I take Zoe, my dog, on a walk with my husband and start to check my emails & notifications from the previous day.
9:00-11:00am- Meet with clients & work on my business (social media, content creation, following up with clients or potential clients) and/ or work on tasks as a learning & development consultant, my corporate job.
I make and drink my coffee between 10-11am. I do this on purpose as our cortisol levels tend to be highest in the morning and start to decrease around this time in the day. You are less likely to get the caffeine jitters if you drink a cup mid-morning instead of first thing.
11:00-12:00pm- I usually have team meetings at this point or I will continue working
12:00-1:00pm- Business Group Coaching/ Mentoring call
1:00-1:30pm- Walk Zoe with my husband and prepare lunch
1:30-2:00pm- Eat lunch. I usually have a salad or a harvest bowl. I will either create something at home or I have been loving meals from Daily Harvest & Get Fit Foods lately. With lunch I make sure to always have a well-rounded meal, including a lot of veggies, a protein source, healthy fat (like avocado) and carbohydrates.
2:00-5:00pm- “Deep work” & 1-2 meetings. Deep work involves more concentration, and I am usually the most productive at this time.
5:00-5:30pm- Prepare for fitness or yoga class and set up virtual space
5:30-6:30pm- Teach class or workout myself if I am not teaching
6:30-7:30pm- Prepare dinner and eat dinner with my husband! We usually have a protein, a lot of veggies (we always try to eat the rainbow to get a lot of different nutrients in!) and then some type of starch (our favorites are sweet potatoes, quinoa, or brown rice).
7:30-8:30pm- Watch TV with my husband. We watch a lot of different stuff, but our favorites right now are Survivor, Super Market Sweep, Nine Strangers and CW superhero-based shows.
8:30-9:00pm- Walk Zoe and chat with neighbors
9:00-10:00pm- Watch TV (see above 😊)
10:00-11:00pm- Shower and begin evening routine. This includes turning my phone on to airplane mode (mini tech detox before bed), gentle reading light, turn air down to around 70 degrees, read/ winddown and finally meditate/ breathwork to ease into sleep
11:00-11:30pm- fall asleep!
