Portuguese Colonization is not very known around the world. Portugal's Empire Spanned the Planet and Its former possessions are now across more than 30 countries around the world. The Portuguese created colonies for numerous reasons: To trade for spices, gold, agricultural products, and other resources. In South America, Brazil was the most important colony and Salvador was the first Capital and most important Port in the Americas. Today Salvador is a vibrant city with Colonial Old Town recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and Creative Music. We will walk in the Old Town of Salvador and give you an introduction of our history and views of the most African City, outside Africa. The Black Rome!!
