The workshop looks at how to plan and structure your writing for IELTS task 2 questions, and use the planning to create a cohesive introduction.


What you'll learn

This workshop will look at how to plan and structure your writing for IELTS task 2. It will go through steps to show how to write an introduction from the planning work. The workshop aims to help you improve your Task Achievement and Cohesion & Coherence band scores. The workshop includes all the materials and a follow up writing practice.

Students who need to increase their IELTS score from 5.5 to 6.5 or higher.

I started teaching in Australia and New Zealand in 2007 after receiving my certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). In 2008 I moved to Madrid in Spain where I taught General English, Business English and Cambridge Exam preparation for just over three years. During my time in Spain I became a Cambridge oral examiner for PET and KET exams, and I completed my Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA) with Cambridge University. After leaving Spain, I returned to Ireland to complete a Masters in Teaching English as a Foreign Language & Linguistics. I was awarded a First Class Honours Degree for my MA by the University of Limerick. Since then I have been working in the higher education, specialising in English for Academic Purposes, Academic IELTS preparation and pre-sessional academic programmes. Since completing my MA I have worked in the University of Limerick Ireland, University of Bath UK, University of Bristol UK, and Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo Japan. I am currently studying a Diploma in Technical Enhanced Learning (TEL) with the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG)
