Advanced chess tips to help you win!

Forced moves
It's a good idea to put your opponent in a position where they have to move their piece. For example, if you put your opponent in a check, they would have to move their king or another piece to block the check. This is good because instead of advancing their plan they have to defend against yours.

An important chess strategy is knowing when to sacrifice and when to force the opponent to sacrifice. You may lose a very powerful piece by doing this but it can ruin your enemy's plan.

Look at the whole board
In an intense game, you can get lost in the center of the board. Advanced players need to keep their focus on the whole board and not only where the action is happening. There might be something the other player is planning that you don't want to overlook.

Analyze past games
After playing games and competing for a while you'll find your progress becoming stagnant. A great way to build on everything you've learned from practicing is by analyzing your games and the games of others. You can learn which moves were right and which were wrong and how to play better next time.
