Call out your inner Italian mama and learn how to make pasta from scratch. We will mix, knead, roll and boil and make a great roasted tomato sauce to go with it.

What you'll learn

This is a private hands-on class! So you'll be the only student and can ask chef Edie all the questions you have! 

~ Or make this a fun group or team building class, and find out who can make the nicest looking tagliatelle! ~ 

Knowing how to make your own pasta is not a life saving skill. Unless you live in Italy, maybe. But it is a lot of fun to do!

While the pasta rests, we'll be chopping up tomatoes and other ingredients for the oven roasted tomato sauce. Then we will roll out and cut the pasta into tagliatelle. And we will season you pasta sauce with ingredients you have in your pantry! 

And yes, you can use your pasta maker if you have one, but you won't need one.

Gluten-free = no problem. You can make a nice pasta with gluten-free flour too! 

In her cooking classes, chef Edie loves to explain what happens in your pots and pans. We will discuss the cooking technique(s) we're using, and how you can switch up recipes with ingredients you have in your pantry. All just to empower you to get a bit looser with recipes so you can come a more confident and creative cook.

Meet Edie Dourleijn,

Your teacher

Chef Edie was one of the first food bloggers of the Netherlands, attended culinary school to spice up her cooking and to learn all is possible. Then she taught curious home cooks like she was all the fun and interesting things she had learned. After moving to California, she started her company creative cook co to mentor people looking for a lifestyle change, spending more time in the kitchen and encouraging home cooks to become free of recipes. Chef Edie loves cooking with vegetables, and gets her inspiration from all over the world, the Mediterranean area in particular. She is a curious omnivore and hates to waste food.

What to bring

rolling pin (or a bottle of wine)
knife and cutting board
oven, sheet pan, parchment paper (optional)|
immersion or regular blender or food processor
ingredients: flour, eggs, tomatoes, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, tomatoes, olive oil, dried thyme/oregano, Parmesan, basil and additional seasoning
