Intermediate Chess Lessons (for players between 1200-1800 on the online ratings)

What you'll learn

Once the main rudiments are acquired (attack, defense, value of the pieces, king safety, center control, minor pieces development, basic strategy, among others) you are ready to move on to the next level of chess improvement: none other than tactical knowledge.

Hence, we will work on checkmate patterns (Boden, Anastasia, Dovetail, Smothered, etc.), tactical motifs (double attack, attraction, deflection, interception, etc) and, above all, calculation.

We will study in depth the critical factors of linear and nonlinear calculation. The importance of the move order, the forced moves and the intermediate moves. You will enhance your tactical awareness and calculation speed.

Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on visualization as a training method, with the ultimate goal of being able to play chess blindfolded.

For these purposes, we will study master games, we will jointly and in-depth analyze the games of the students and we will do tons of puzzles of different types and difficulties.

The general proposal of the class is to generate a collective, fun and challenging training space.

I invite you to learn chess together!
